In Lebanon, from May 8, within two weeks, a festival will be held in historical places of the country, including Beirut, Tripoli, Jbeil, Zahle and Sayda, aimed at expanding the cultural exchange between Ukraine and Lebanon.
The purpose of the festival is to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. Participants in the event, represented by Lebanese and other nationalities, will be able to learn more about the cultural traditions of Ukraine, listening to music and enjoying exhibitions of Ukrainian clothes, food and paintings by artists.
A representative of the Ukrainian Embassy in Lebanon said: “The goal of the festival is to present Ukraine with its many-sided cultural traditions, emphasizing the best heritage of song, music and visual arts as a country spiritually close to Lebanon”.
Officials said that in Lebanon 5,000 Ukrainian women are married to Lebanese men, but there is a suspicion that there are much more immigrants from Ukraine in the country.
Thus, it is safe to say that there is a large Ukrainian community in Lebanon, and a Lebanese community in Ukraine. The Ministry supports this cultural festival, which will be added to the list of joint events between the two countries.
