Saint Volodymyr Hill in Kiev was opened after repair and restoration works, which were carried out since the autumn of last year, – the press service of the Kyiv city state administration informs.
Here were built a children’s play complex, new paths, shops, new lanterns, stylized in the old days. Updated and painted Kokorevskaya gazebo. Strengthened and protected the slopes and retaining walls. Installed a video surveillance system. A modern irrigation system helps to look after flowers and plants.
Now the reconstruction of the upper part of the Saint Volodymyr Hill has been completed. Still to come work on the lower plateau, where the construction of two new gazebos and fountain is planned.
Volodymyrska Hill or Saint Volodymyr Hill is a large 10.6 hectares (0.106 km2) park located on the steep right-bank of the Dnipro River in central Kiev (Kyiv), the capital of Ukraine. Its most famous and prominent landmark is the monument to St. Volodymyr of Kiev. The monument, with its prominent location and overlooking the scenic panorama of the left-bank of Kiev, has since become one of the symbols of Kiev, often depicted in paintings and photographic works of the city.
